A consultation-first service, not a checkout.
Weight management, done properly
Prescription weight-loss treatment through a regulated route — consultation, eligibility check, prescriber review and real aftercare.

Overview
The honest version.
Weight-loss medication works. It also only works properly when someone is actually looking after you — checking that it is appropriate for you in the first place, starting you at the right dose, and staying in touch as your body adjusts.
Bella Avora runs a consultation-led weight management service across South Yorkshire. Treatment is prescribed by a registered prescriber and dispensed by a registered pharmacy. There is no basket to add a prescription medicine to, because that is not how prescription medicines lawfully work — and honestly, it is not how good outcomes happen either.
What matters
The parts that make the difference.
Eligibility, checked honestly
Prescription weight-management treatment is generally considered where BMI is 30 or above, or 27 and above alongside a weight-related health condition. If you are not suitable, we will tell you, and point you somewhere more useful.
A prescriber makes the decision
Your consultation and medical history are reviewed by a registered independent prescriber. They decide whether treatment is appropriate, and what to start you on — not a form, and not us.
Titration, not guesswork
Treatment starts low and steps up slowly. That schedule is what keeps side effects manageable, and it is followed properly rather than rushed.
Support that continues
Check-ins, dose reviews, nutrition and protein guidance, and someone to message when something feels off. The medicine is one part of it.
Step by step

FAQ
Common questions
Can I just buy weight-loss medication without a consultation?
No — and you should be wary of anyone offering it. Medicines such as tirzepatide are prescription-only in the UK. They can only be supplied against a prescription written by a registered prescriber and dispensed by a registered pharmacy. The consultation is a legal requirement and a clinical one.
Who prescribes my treatment?
A registered independent prescriber working with our partner pharmacy. Their registration details and the pharmacy's GPhC registration number are shown on this page and on your paperwork.
What are the common side effects?
Nausea, reflux, constipation or loose stools, and reduced appetite are the most commonly reported, and they are usually worst in the first days after a dose increase. Most settle. Anything severe or persistent should be reported straight away.
Am I eligible?
Broadly, treatment is considered where BMI is 30 or above, or 27 or above with a weight-related condition such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnoea or high cholesterol. Some medical histories rule it out entirely. The consultation exists to work this out.
Do I need to change how I eat?
Yes, if you want the result to hold. Appetite suppression makes it easy to under-eat protein and end up losing muscle alongside fat. We cover protein targets, hydration and resistance training as part of the service.
What happens if I stop?
Appetite typically returns and weight regain is common without habit change in place. That is exactly why the service is built around support rather than supply.

Prescription-only medicines are supplied solely against a prescription issued by a registered independent prescriber following consultation, and dispensed by a registered pharmacy.
